In partnership with an organization called Friends and Family Community Connection, the Gathering Place and several other North County Inland churches run an outreach called Community Food and Prayer (CFP).

On the 4th Thursday of each month, teams of volunteers gather at two locations to minister to local families in need.

Through strong relationships with local police, apartment managers, and schools, the team identifies families who need food for their families.  Bags of groceries are prepared as well as other information and services such as health screenings at The Connection Church site.

The evening begins with a brief time of prayer and worship, after which time workers divide up to work with the children who have come along with their parents, participate on shopper teams (paired up with families), or supervise operations.

This is a great way for families to get involved together in volunteerism!
