Visiting a church for the first time can be a daunting experience. We’ve all been there. Often there’s a lot of fear and trepidation in walking through those doors – so we’d like to ask you to do one very important thing: relax.
So, back to what to expect…
At our church, expect to experience God. We ask for and expect God to move in our services. If you are not a church-goer, are a new believer, or just want “more of God” we can tell you that God knows how to meet your needs, whatever they are. If you are looking for answers or strength or faith, come expecting God to meet you.
• Expect to encounter the presence of God in our worship service.
• Expect to meet some great new people.
• Expect powerful teaching from the Bible that is relevant to your life.
• Expect to find God’s purpose for your life.
• Expect to be strengthened in your daily life.
Details, Details
If you are wondering what to wear, just dress casually. We’re not formal around here. Besides, it’s not a fashion show, so just relax. We’re here to worship God.
Parking is plentiful at Mt. Carmel High School. Our very friendly greeters will show you anything you can’t obviously find.
You can grab a cup of coffee and something good to eat at our hospitality area if you are early. While you’re munching on a bagel, look around our information booth.
We meet in the Performing Arts Auditorium at Mount Carmel High School, a brand new state-of-the-art facility.
What is a Weekend Service Like?
To start, we have awesome, contemporary worship that brings you into the presence of God. We are blessed to have a lot of very talented musicians at GPC.
If you would like prayer, there is time during the service set aside for this purpose. We believe God for the impossible, for faith that heals and delivers and sets people free. We have seen God do amazing things through this ministry time and during corporate worship.
Multi-media, dance or drama is often used to promote upcoming events or to help powerfully communicate the message for the day.
Also, you’ll almost always hear a testimony or two of the great things God has done in people’s lives from the previous week. These keep us in touch with the goodness and greatness of God!
Often there is a time of just waiting on God, giving God an opportunity to do the unexpected!
You’ll also receive powerful teaching. You’ll either hear from our main pastor, John, or you’ll hear from our associate pastor, Mark.
The best way to describe our church is we are a Spirit-filled church. We passionately worship God and believe that the Bible and all its gifts and promises are as true and available as much for us today as when they were first written.
And – we believe they are true for you!
Where Do I Take My Children?
That’s easy. Follow the signs. The babies, preschoolers and elementary age children meet in classrooms conveniently across from the auditorium. We have an electronic system to notify you if your child needs you, so you don’t have to worry about your child during the service. If you’re a nursing mom, we have a special room for you so you can still hear the message or participate in the worship.
Visit our kids FAQ page for more information.
What About The Youth? Where Do They Go?
The high schoolers stay in the auditorium with the adults. They worship in what is affectionately known as The Praise Pit. Normally, during school hours, it’s just an orchestra pit, but our youth decided it would be a great place to worship – and it is.
The middle schoolers leave after worship and have their own special service with a relevant message that meets them where they are, in an environment where they can be themselves. They learn powerful lessons about God and his desire to have a personal relationship with each one of them.
