Spend Time Alone With God

Consistency is the Goal

As the Friends of God community, our goal is to have a consistent time with God daily. To that end, we have committed to spend at least 2.5 hours per week with God. (This works out to 25 minutes, 6 days per week.) Though this may sound ‘legalistic” to some, an appointment with God needs to be scheduled and committed to, otherwise it will fall through the cracks of a busy and/or distracted life – no matter how well-intentioned. Once you start; however, you quickly realize that this is not only doable, but a source of your greatest joy!

Spending time alone with God is the key to power!

Our personal time with God is when he exchanges His strength for our weaknesses. (Isaiah 40:28-31) It is being alone with God – meditating on His word, being quiet and getting still – where God imparts His heart into ours. Here is where He speaks phrases into our minds that change our lives. It is also where we prove that we are not in this relationship with Him just to get stuff from Him. This is the place we learn that being with God, as a friend, is of greater importance than the world itself.

The Psalmist said of God, “Your unfailing love is better than life itself” Psalm 63:3 Isn’t having that kind of friendship with God worth pursuing
