What I Do For GPC: Lead worship, love Jesus, songwriter.
What I Do For Fun: Reading, going to movies, jogging, eating…more jogging, coffee shops,friends, thinking, writing, hanging with my family and friends.
What Makes Me Laugh: My husband, my kids and all things silly.
What Makes Me Cry: Hurting children, others’ pain.
In A Previous Life (before GPC): I’ve lived in places like Lima, Peru; Mexico City; Uruapan, Michoacán; and Oaxaca on short and long term missionary trips. I had to learn how to speak Spanish and used to sing in Spanish at numerous churches all around South and Central America. I performed mimes and skits and did street evangelism; and, once I translated for some doctors at a medical clinic.
Best Advice I Ever Received: Leave your children with a babysitter as soon as you can.
Things I Care About: My family, honest friendship, living a life of significance, being an encourager, laughter, music and the constant pursuit of His presence, being in nature, all things beautiful, great food (and desserts) and living with passion in all things.
Family Matters – I’ve been married to my hottie hubby since 1993. He is my biggest fan, my encourager, my best friend, an amazing Dad, steady and strong, and quite simply the best man I’ve ever known. I have three amazing children. Joshua, Emily and Zachary love people, love to laugh, love to have fun, are hilarious, compassionate and strong. Being a Mom is one of my greatest joys in life and more rewarding than I can express. I love watching them grow, learn and become the world changers that God has destined them to be.
My Secret Talent: If I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret.
My Favorite Cartoon Character and Why: The Tasmanian devil; because he stirs things up but is hard to understand.
Grew Up Where: Poway.
Favorite Movies: I love a variety of movies. Classics, comedies, chick-flicks, epics… too many to list!
Food I Can’t Live Without: Is coffee a food?
Favorite Books: Besides the Bible… My Redeeming Love, The Mark of the Lion Trilogy, When Heaven Invades Earth, Face to Face with God, Blessed Child, The Cake Doctor… and the list goes on.
Favorite Music/Bands: I love a variety of music (country, jazz, classical,rock, some of the newer Christian music, oldies, etc.) Some of my favorite artists are Michael Buble, Harry Connick, Jr., Gavin DeGraw, Dave Matthews, Nora Jones, Carrie Underwood to name a few. My strongest influences in worship music are Misty Edwards and Kim Walker-Smith. But, when my CD comes out – that’ll be my favorite…
What Made Me Want To Follow Jesus: I was 14 and at a youth camp; I had a vision of a large army coming towards me. It was fierce! I saw it continuing to come and then watched as it kept marching right on past me. I knew then that I had a choice; and ultimately I didn’t want to be left out of what God was doing. It was too big and too awesome to not jump in.
