“Gathering Place Church is a Spirit-filled congregation began as a small group with a passion to do great work for God. Today, Gathering Place Church serves North County San Diego -Escondido, through spirit-filled services and making a positive impact on the local and global communities through missions.”
The 4 Pillars
When the church began, God spoke to the leadership and said to build the Gathering Place on 4 Pillars.
The advancement of the kingdom of God is a spiritual battle and therefore only advances through prayer. The Bible makes this clear in Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” But James states that we can have the victory through prayer! “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” James 5:16 amp
The Bible tells us that we can have the faith to move mountains and all knowledge but if we do not have love, we are nothing. The Bible tells us that, “God is love.” 1 John 4:8 Therefore, if we are going to be a congregation that represents Jesus, we must have love in all we do!
God is still speaking today. He does not add to or contradict Scripture, but He is speaking to His children. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit, with all of His gifts, is still in operation today and is a vital part of seeing the Church fulfill its mission in the earth.
Praise is powerful. Praise brings the presence of God. Praise pushes back the enemy (Psalm 9). Praise is one of the mightiest weapons God has ever given to the Church. God is worthy of our praise and He is worthy of our best praise. Therefore we have many skillful musicians who love to praise God with their whole heart! Praise and worship is a big part of our church’s DNA.
